Organic Produce: Is it Worth the Hype?
The rise of organic food has seen a surge in consumer interest, but is it truly worth the extra cost? While organic produce often carries a higher price tag, there are several compelling reasons to consider incorporating it into your diet.

Benefits of Organic Produce
  • Reduced Pesticide Exposure: One of the primary benefits of organic produce is the reduced exposure to pesticides. Conventional farming often relies heavily on synthetic pesticides, which can have potential health and environmental impacts.
  • Higher Nutrient Content: Studies have shown that organic produce may contain higher levels of certain antioxidants and nutrients compared to conventionally grown produce.
  • Environmental Benefits: Organic farming practices are generally more sustainable, as they minimize the use of harmful chemicals and promote soil health.
  • Animal Welfare: Organic livestock are raised without the use of antibiotics and growth hormones, which can contribute to antibiotic resistance.

Tips for Saving Money on Organic Produce
  • Shop at Farmers' Markets: Farmers' markets often offer a wider variety of organic produce at competitive prices.
  • Buy in Season: Seasonal produce is typically more affordable and readily available.
  • Grow Your Own: Consider starting a small garden to grow your own organic fruits and vegetables.
  • Look for Sales and Discounts: Many grocery stores offer sales on organic produce throughout the year.

Cleaning Your Produce
Regardless of whether you choose organic or conventionally grown produce, it's essential to wash it thoroughly before consumption.
  • Wash all fruits and vegetables: Even produce with a thick skin can harbor bacteria.
  • Scrub firm produce: Use a vegetable brush to scrub firm produce like potatoes and melons.
  • Soak leafy greens: Soak leafy greens in a bowl of water with a splash of vinegar for a few minutes to remove any dirt or pesticides.
Incorporating organic produce into your diet can be a valuable step towards a healthier lifestyle. By making informed choices and taking advantage of cost-saving strategies, you can enjoy the benefits of organic foods while staying within your budget.

Meet Heather Martin

For years, I didn't feel like myself.

Even as I was putting a smile on everyday, I still felt like a helpless mother. It was really hard on me emotionally and had started to affect the rest of my family.

After having undiagnosed postpartum depression three times in three years-- I decided my fourth was going to be different. My research and what I had been through, helped immensely. I decided to start using some products from a company I know and trust while incorporating other things into my life.

The fourth trimester after my fourth baby was completely different. The first three pregnancies (fourth trimester) was very difficult--being fake, pretending to be happy, smiling, and laughing like I was okay.

Now, I am vibrant. I'm on a mission to help a lot of people break free and empower themselves with the knowledge and resources that I have learned during those years.
