Being a mother is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. However, it is not without its challenges, and it can also be incredibly stressful. As a mom, it’s essential to take care of your mental wellness and prioritize your emotional needs to be the best parent you can be.
Here are some tips and advice to navigate motherhood and improve your mental wellness.

1. Prioritize self-care:

As a mom, it often feels like your entire life revolves around others, and you don’t have time for yourself. However, self-care is crucial for maintaining good mental wellness. It’s important to make time for yourself, even if it’s just a few minutes each day. Take a relaxing bath, read a book, or practice yoga. Do whatever makes you feel relaxed and peaceful.

2. Connect with other moms:

Motherhood can be isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. Connect with other moms in your community, whether it’s through a mom’s group or a playdate with other moms and their children. It’s essential to have a support system of women who understand what you’re going through.

3. Take breaks:

It’s essential to take breaks throughout the day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Whether it’s a cup of tea or a walk around the block, taking breaks can help you decompress and destress.

4. Get enough sleep:

Sleep is essential for mental wellness. As a mom, it can be challenging to get enough rest, but it’s crucial to prioritize sleep. Find ways to get the rest you need, whether it’s taking naps when your baby sleeps or going to bed earlier.

5. Ask for help:

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It’s okay to ask friends or family for assistance, whether it’s watching your child for a few hours, providing a meal, or just being there to listen. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child.

Being a mom is a challenging but rewarding experience. It’s essential to prioritize your mental wellness and emotional needs to be the best parent you can be. Remember to take breaks, connect with other moms, ask for help, prioritize self-care, and get enough sleep. By taking care of yourself, you’ll be a happier and healthier mom, and your children will benefit from it as well.

Meet Heather Martin

For years, I didn't feel like myself.

Even as I was putting a smile on everyday, I still felt like a helpless mother. It was really hard on me emotionally and had started to affect the rest of my family.

After having undiagnosed postpartum depression three times in three years-- I decided my fourth was going to be different. My research and what I had been through, helped immensely. I decided to start using some products from a company I know and trust while incorporating other things into my life.

The fourth trimester after my fourth baby was completely different. The first three pregnancies (fourth trimester) was very difficult--being fake, pretending to be happy, smiling, and laughing like I was okay.

Now, I am vibrant. I'm on a mission to help a lot of people break free and empower themselves with the knowledge and resources that I have learned during those years.
