The Holidays are right around the corner. Have you started your Christmas cookie baking? Are you looking for a delicious option that does not include the oven? Well, you are in luck… these are delicious and EVERYONE loves them!

My family has always called these Reindeer Turds but some people call them Oreo Balls or Oreo Truffles. No matter what they are called these are something you’ll want at your Holiday gatherings and something to snack on Christmas morning!

Ingredients Needed:

  • One (14.3oz) pack of Oreos (cream filled cookies)
  • One 8oz softened cream cheese
  • One package of Chocolate Almond Bark
  • One package of White Almond Bark

Items Needed:

You will need to crush the cream filled cookies with a food processor. This is to ensure the cookie pieces are very small.

Pour the crushed Oreos into a bowl and put the 8oz softened cream cheese into the bowl. Blend with a hand mixer to ensure they are mixed well. Put the mixture into the refrigerator for at least one hour. This will ensure the mixture doesn’t stick when you are creating the balls.

Take the Oreo mixture out of the fridge and scoop about a teaspoon. The size of the balls is completely up to you but I like to get more out of one recipe so I make them approximately one teaspoon. Roll into balls (I use my hands to roll the balls). Place on a glass plate or cookie sheet. Put the Oreo balls into the freezer until they are pretty hard. The Oreo balls are easier to dip in chocolate if they have been in the freezer for approximately one hour.

Take the entire package of chocolate almond bark and melt it. Typically, I follow the package for melting instructions but the easiest is putting it into a glass bowl, and placing it into the microwave for about one minute. Then mixing every 30 seconds until the chocolate is all the way melted.

Take the cookie balls out of the freezer and place them (one by one) into the melted chocolate almond bark. Using a slotted spoon make sure the ball is filled with the almond bark and then shake some of the chocolate off while scraping the bottom of the spoon. Place the dipped ball onto parchment paper. This process will need to be done fairly quickly as the almond bark starts to harden fast.

You will then take about a square or a small portion of the white almond bark and melt that using the same process as the chocolate almond bark. Once it is fully melted then take a small spoon and dip it into the white almond bark and then drizzle over the Oreo balls.

Your truffles should harden fairly quickly. Freeze until ready to serve.

ENJOY!

Meet Heather Martin

The sterile scent of hospitals, the hushed, hopeful whispers, and the gnawing fear that lives in every waiting room – these became the unwanted backdrop of my life. It wasn't a single event, but a relentless series of challenges that slowly, profoundly, reshaped my understanding of health and ultimately, my purpose.

It began with my own daughter's cancer diagnosis. The helplessness I felt was amplified a thousandfold. As we navigated her treatment, I scrutinized every aspect of her care, seeking not just survival, but thriving. I began to ask different questions, looking beyond the conventional to see how diet, lifestyle, and a holistic approach could support her body through the immense challenges she faced.

Then, the world tilted on its axis with my beloved father. His terminal cancer diagnosis was a crushing blow, an unyielding reality that traditional medicine, for all its marvels, couldn't alter. We watched, we hoped, we grieved. In the midst of that raw pain, a seed of curiosity took root: Was there more to healing than what we were being told?

My own body then sent a jarring message. I experienced a hemiplegic migraine, an terrifying event that starkly mimicked stroke-like symptoms. The sudden loss of function, the fear, the uncertainty – it was a profound wake-up call. It forced me to confront my own health, which I had unconsciously neglected while caring for others. It was in that moment of vulnerability that I truly understood the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.

I realized then that I didn't just want to heal; I wanted to understand why we get sick and how to build true, resilient health from the ground up. I wanted to change the trajectory of my own life, and more importantly, my family's life, away from chronic illness and towards vibrant well-being.

This intense, personal journey ignited an unshakeable passion within me. I devoured knowledge, exploring functional nutrition, mind-body practices, and the profound impact of lifestyle on health. I became an integrative health practitioner because I couldn't keep this newfound understanding to myself. My deepest desire is to guide others through their own health challenges, to empower them with the knowledge and tools to create their own new beginnings, and to help them rewrite their family's health story, just as I've strived to do for my own. It's not just a profession; it's a calling born from love, loss, and a relentless hope for a healthier future for all.
